THIRTY YEARS AND COUNTING

Thirty Years completed Sept 29th 2015

.

It's hard to believe that there has been this much time that has passed  I am fortunate to be alive and to have lived this much life. It wouldn't have been possible had I continued with drinking.

Many may laugh and some still disbelieve why anyone would ever want to stop. I've always been singled out and made the example when it came to my rebellious ways.  To them I say in humor that I am the result of when you quit drugs and alcohol.

For me it was much easier to stop. I seen that in the long run at the rate I was going, I wouldn't  have
lived this long and more than likely would have killed someone else in the process.

I celebrate this day because I've been successful. I can enjoy another day without having to have to drink to do it. May you all have the fortune and the courage to be different regardless of what others think.  God has surely blessed me and may you all find Him even  when you aren't in need.

Hundreds of people from Jefferson County and  the surrounding area enjoyed the friendly family festivities.  There were multiple food vendors, games, raffles and a host of Choreographed Dance routines.

There were all sorts of crafts and activities including a Wedding, a Car Show and Live Music.

With the success of this first time event, it's hard to imagine there wouldnn't be another

NO MORE ALIBI

By Sterling Bradly

The band ALIBI left while still being one of the most impressive and favored in all of southern Missouri. The group had performed in and around Perryville, MO and as far south as Cape Geraldo.
It is uncertain if the group will ever return to performing.  But I am sure there will be more heard from its members, Scott Lay, Joe Inkley and Stix Douglas

ALIBI Returns to MIDWAY

Classic Rock band ALIBI didn't disappoint dancers while at the MIDWAY Bar & Grill Saturday night. In fact the group members Scott Lay , Joe Inkley & Stix Douglas had the crowd up and dancing nearly all night dispite the freezing rain and road conditions outside.
The group is highly successful with performing a mix of Dance related hits  along from the 60's 70's 80's & 90's with a few newer tunes thrown in for good measure.
The group continues to please audience's wherever they perform.

The Acoustic Trio

The Acoustic Trio of Tessa Folk & COMPANY is made up of three-multi talented, well-seasoned musician/vocalist.  Members include Joe Inkley, Stix Douglas and Tessa Folk.

Joe's main instrument might be an Electric Bass guitar, but he also performs with a Six String Acoustic as a Rhythm & Lead Guitarist. His talents also include playing Mandolin, singing Lead and he does harmony vocals as well.

Stix is the Trio's Percussionist. He performs using Bongos, Congas, and a instrument known as a Slap Top Cajon  besides other percussion. ( Cowbell, Tambourine etc.) Stix is seldom allowed to sing more than a few as a Lead vocalist but does do a lot of  harmony vocals.

Tessa Folk  is a singer-songwriter who has recorded  a few of her own compositions and works occasionally as a Solo Artist.  She performs while using a Twelve String Acoustic Rhythm Guitar but she is also a talented Harmonica player.  Often playing both instruments while doing it at the same time.

Over the course of the Trio's performance Tessa may do one of her own original songs. They are always crowd pleaser's

That fact and that together the group has a rather uncanny and very diverse sound
that separate them from  many other groups.
A lot of the Trio's songs are filled with harmony's and many of then are three parts.

When asked Tessa tells those that have not heard her with the Trio that :"We are not your typical Mustang Sally kind of band.":

Although  there are not other groups currently doing an Acoustic style or Folk
sound (pun intended) The Trio of Tessa Folk and COMPANY are rather unusual while at
the same time a refreshing change from the typical or hum drum groups.  You owe it to      yourself to hear the difference.

Good Things Come To Those That Wait

It has been nearly a year in the works since the local Classic Rock Band ALIBI had first approached The Midway Bar and Grill about performing there.

Things finally came together on Saturday evening  December 28th.

The club was filled to near capacity as the group brought their equipment in to set to up. Just a few minutes after 9:00pm the long wait was finally over.

The band ALIBI performed a host of Danceable Classic Rock songs that were well received. By the second song of the second set the audience were up on their feet and danced to nearly every song for the remainder of the evening. The crowd didn't hold back on their enthusiasm and had a great time.
